Full Face Permanent Makeup

You may decide on a couple permanent makeup procedures and wonder if you can have the full face done in one day. It is possible to have full face permanent makeup done at once and this takes about 6 hours to a full day.

FULL FACE PERMANENT MAKEUP CONTRAINDICATIONS

Are there any contraindications for doing this? Firstly, you must have written permission from your physician if you are taking specific medications. If you have a skin condition such as psoriasis, eczema on the site of tattooing or are easily triggered by post inflammatory hyperpigmentation then you are not a good candidate for permanent makeup. Anyone who had herpes before was considered a contraindication, however, with current medication to control the virus, herpes is no longer considered a contraindication.

Secondly, whether you can have a full face done is based on each person’s pain tolerance. Topical anesthetic designed for permanent make is applied before and during the procedure to numb the skin and reduce the discomfort. There will be areas that are more sensitive than others, depending on the individual.

Following the procedure, between four to six hours, the face will be slightly reddened and even swollen. Use ice gel packs to reduce the swelling. From 7-10 days, the permanent makeup appears darker. By the seventh day, the top layer of the skin will flake and peel, leaving the color softer. Let this occur on its own and do not peel the skin or you could cause scarring. The final colour will settle within 6 weeks.

A second “touch-up” appointment is generally required for the skin to capture the colour. Results will vary between people and skin types. If you have had permanent makeup done in the past, there are no guarantees the pigment retention or result. Generally, you should schedule a touch-up appointment after 6 weeks. Touch-up appointment fees and times are less than the first appointment.

You can return to regular activities usually within 24 hours. It is strongly suggested not to wear makeup or swim within 2 weeks. Do not expose the treated area to the sun for 30 days after your appointment. This will cause discoloration and hyperpigmentation reactions.
